Rob is the middle man here. He was hired by the big television station
to produce a reality television show about the struggles of obesity
in the world. ‘The Company’ and Brad Lee made an agreement,
that they would be able to use his facilities as a set and in return
Brad gets a big chunk of dough on the tail end. The reality show is
called “Losin it” (the name of the fitness center and weight
loss clinic). Rob is one of those self-centred, controlling, pretentios,
‘everything has to go my way’, kind of guys. So basically
he is the definition of a producer. You will NEVER catch Rob saying
anything good about anyone. The thing that makes Rob a unique character
is that he kind of looks like a turtle, and for that matter sounds like
one too. I think he made a deal with atan at one point: “I will
be rich and famous for the rest of my life, but in return I have to
look and sound like a turtle”. Rob was introduced to Gordo, (the
custodian) during a routine sweat clean up, and was facinated by how
serious Gordo takes his job. He was just television material. So Rob
made the phone call into ‘The Company’ asking permission
to produce one episode a season deticated to Gordo the custodian. Permission
Granted. Rob also dislikes overweight people. So this puts him and Brad
on the same level.
